Awesome game :) IDK if it's intentional, but attacking a spiky enemy with a pickaxe affected by a vampirism gem causes the spike damage to trigger twice per attack, which was unexpected and pretty brutal
Yeah, once it happened I figured that. I expected it to be equivalent to +1 damage and +1 heal on the weapon rather than being a separate attack. If the extra spike damage is intentional, I hope the tooltip gets updated, because this makes a couple of bosses way more deadly
When the game teases you with cleavers in every other drop, but you never get any of the ones to activate them, seriously there are several times when i could have dropped my setup to go for something else, but i just kept getting cleavers. :|
Yeah, the shield spirit can activate arrows, although the mousewood would be inactive due to adjacency bonuses. So probably just best to use normal weapons and duct tape to get even more weapons
not necessarily. you can still use arrows to bypass spikes, and other than the bow bonuses (including mousewood) using shields to fire arrows is basically the same as using any other bow...and just as viable...
If I close the window then come back the save is gone. It's still there if I quit through the menu but I still can't shut down the pc so there's no point in that
Found a lil bug? I killed the enemy but the enemy killed me as well. Before the screen turned black, my little mouse got up with 3 health because of the Bandage and did her little pose of victory. Interesting revive but the game still registered it as a death lmao.
It's just a matter of keeping the run going long enough. The longer the run goes on, the more the kill total scales up and the more Golden Whetstones you can find. My current run is on floor 190, I've applied 11 golden whetstones to my dagger, gotten nearly 1400 kills with it, and my first attack of the fight is over 5k damage (it goes up from there because of +rage/attack from the forge). Basically, if you don't get killed you reach a point where your damage output scales up faster than enemy hp does (the Shield Spirit + Hercule Pavise combo is pretty important for this because it turns it from 2 energy per attack to multiple attacks per energy - if I cleared out the space to activate my Red Energy I could do 72 attacks per turn right now - and it gives you free block at the same time).
I tried to play this on my android phone but most of the game view is cut off because it doesnt fit the aspect ratio of my phone. Dunno if its something that can be addressed in unity but I tried to find some setting to get it to work on my phone but wasnt able to figure anything out :(
Alright, pretty sure I just can't lose now from that bottom-right corner. The Berserker's Club is free to use and permanently does 0 damage due to the hourglass. Just put on a little poison and you can infinitely stack poison (rag will also keep clearing it if you only put one on, as you get the poison too). There is one enemy that gets spikes from attacks, but candle will remove them (have yet to face them with this, but should keep up, and the block should save during that). Takes a really long time, but is reliable.
yup...just tried it myself. did poison from weapon smith instead of whetstone, but ya...just give yourself a bit of armor for the initial spikes when you find them, since they proc before candle, and you're basically a shoe in for however far you wanna go...a little too boring tho
Yeah, after getting a few floors into endless mode, I gave up after having to click it multiple thousand times per battle, even with animation speed fully up. The game started lagging from so many things ticking. Wanted to get to the spike-generating enemy just to confirm, but never found them.
So this is pretty great for doing the initial run, but beyond that, it's more of a theoretical victory, knowing the only enemy you can lose to is the unceasing march of time ;P
i will name this build, throw gems to the slimes kkk, finally found a good use for the hour glass it really cand do wonders in the slime build. i had more slime swords, like six, so if i had found a bomb + hourglass and this bunch of gems maybe the run would be even more OP
Furthest I've gotten so far, I'm super addicted to this game and I just started playing yesterday. I'm sad I missed the kickstarter backing, as I would've donated money. But I'm definitely going to get this on steam.
I think it's a combination luck, Luck, and just getting a lot of loot into multiple cycles of endless mode. I'm right with you that I can't ever seem to get a cleaver build off the ground.
I'm not sure why it says weapons, but yes its only meant to be used on one. Or maybe it's the opposite and the devs forgort to add that option. Either way, it can only be used on 1 item
It gets kind of tedious in endless mode. There should be a way to make it harder without turning enemies into bullet sponges. Every fight is just clicking over and over until they eventually die making sure i dont mess up and kill myself with a misclick. Not really fun.
I think this is the most optimal setup for cleavers and duct tape. Turn one, first energy 135 attacks 56632 damage with 4rage x 12 triggers and 3haste x 4 triggers and only 1 gold whetstone. This gives the ability to have poison and lifesteal.
I see a few people with builds like this and wonder if there is some exploit to farm items or something. I rarely ever see duct tape (even past level 20). So rare in fact that I have only ever seen it show up in my games two times. And that is nothing to speak of the sheer number of rare cleavers you have!
Saw the duct tape plenty when it was rare, before I knew it's real potential. He is on floor 54 here, so lots and lots of fights, shops to comb through loot. The cleavers seem to come up a lot, I've had 4 queen, 2 king, and a jack pre 15 before, and I've really only tried the cleaver strat a few times. That duct tape chain is beautiful, though.
I've used all of them except for the 2 commons. 10hp is nice for a "normal" run, archer kit is great for jumping out of the gate with bows, and 1 rare is the most interesting to me. Just click and run with it, trying to force a build around it.
I have been having a hard time getting cleavers after I get a few already, is there anything I can do for the luck?( got 3 king cleavers but found none others, not even regulars)

sound gets bit crushed after a minute or less
been using cursed gem with a cursed blade - ruined my best run, because when i've used cursed gem as my first action, i had been locked to use it again and again and could not strike with a blade same turn. kind of a bummer, was exited when got these two together.
nontheless, you got some heat brewing, guys. keep up the good work. big up
didn't find the report bug button anywhere so i'll write it here, it seems like explosive arrow has wrong number in description as it adds 1dmg/space not 2

Vampirism is an extra attack, different from say...the heart gem that just gives +1 hp per attack. So you attack once then do a vampirism attack.

Decent run ig, this weapon's very nice. Idk how someone managed to get over 2k damage on it tho. Gonna try a few more runs with it.

Made it all the way down to floor 99. Forgot to get a screenshot but here's one from floor 95. Was a really fun run. Cleavers are still OP

How am I supposed to beat king without only using projectiles or getting lucky by getting the cleansing flame?
I beat him with haste mana build. Regen, ring of doom, etc.
Often I beat him by just playing it slow and only attacking him once or twice per turn.
i beat him down with a teddy bear...

Sad, i have a pickaxe covered in gems and it isn't enough to beat the king because of the other gear I have/don't have.
How do I select multiple weapons with the golden whetstone? It says select weapons but after clicking on the first weapon it gets used up

Mousewood is a lot more viable and it is The Archery Relic to use vs the Belt of Knives which was the better one pre-nerf

I got lucky and hit few wheels with king and queen cleavers i got most from them.
Btw what's your guy's opinion on the best Mathew's Blessing Options

You have to click the cursed gem again to disable. I know it's pretty unintuitive. I lost 14 hp to it before I figured it out.

The item has all modifiers multiplied by 0.5x, and it seems that includes it's own damage buff on empty spaces.
