Backpack Hero Balance Update


New Stuff:

  • Added in four new items that move in combat!

Glitches:

  • Fixed a minor problem with the grid in the background of the backpack
  • Fixed a glitch with heavy items in combat
  • Fixed a glitch where sometimes wands and picks wouldn't accept buffs from the electric stone
  • Prevented accidental input when viewing the "locked door" interface
  • Fixed a glitch where items could appear behind the grid
  • Fixed a glitch where particles from destroyed items could reappear
  • Made it so you cannot save while moving
  • Fixed an error where save games could load the wrong background and music
  • Fixed typos with the golden bow
  • Fixed a glitch where darts could forget that they're projectiles
  • Fixed a glitch where the dark whetstone wouldn't properly affect the lightning bolt
  • Fixed a glitch where you would walk in place after clicking on a room that had a blocked path.
  • Fixed transparent pixels in dodge potion
  • Fixed a glitch where items from the store would continually move to their "store" position
  • Fixed a glitch where keys could disappear when using locks

Changes:

  • Items can now be activated multiple times per move. They only activate other items a single time. This lets you chain cleavers and shield spirits more effectively, but prevents infinite loops
  • Multiplicative bonuses are now expressed as percentages, which helps clarify the math
  • Titled blade got a redesign
  • The lizard king sword can now be used once each turn
  • The conductor now adds 25% damage to all connected weapons
    Bag of Knives is now the Belt of Knives
  • Fluffy cotton now adds 2 mana with each wand use
  • Updated the sprites of many items
  • Ruby increased from 2 to 4 damage boost
  • Pearl increased from 2 to 4 damage boost
  • Amethyst increased from 1 to 2 damage boost
  • Diamond increased from 1 to 2 damage boost
  • Emerald increase from 1 to 2 damage boost
  • Rogue's mask is now rare instead of legendary. It adds 1 dodge at the start of each combat
  • Ninja outfit is now legendary and adds 1 dodge each turn but removes all armor
  • Mace damage increased from 12 to 16 damage
  • The cleansing wand now removes 50% of all status effects on targeted enemy. It is now uncommon
  • The Jade Axe can now be used more than once per turn
  • The golden bow now adds 2 gold on each kill
  • The archers wand now costs 1 energy
  • The speedy leaf now adds 1 energy every turn and destroys itself at the end of combat
  • The heavy blade now adds 5 slow to all enemies on kill
  • The ethereal staff now uses mana instead of energy
  • Coal now costs only 1 energy, but can be used only once per turn
  • Cave fish regen increased from 2 to 4
  • Chef's hat now gives +50% bonus damage to all cleavers beneath it
  • Chainmail armor each turn increased from 3 to 5
  • Chainmail now increases its armor whenever an adjacent item is destroyed
  • Tunic armor each turn increased from 3 to 5
  • The Necronomicon now adds 2 poison to all enemies. It adds 1 poison to the player. It adds 2 mana per use.
  • Warrior's spellbook now costs 2 energy. It adds 4 mana and 2 damage to adjacent and diagonal weapons
  • Increased Dagger damage from 5 to 8
  • Changed the name of the Spiked Club to the Berserker's Club
  • You can now add items over existing items when they are generated from an item in battle
  • Relics no longer have a rarity
  • Changed the name of the Lightning Bolt to just "Lightning"
  • Added some keyboard controls
    • Tab switches between the map and the backpack.
    • Left Shift switches between enemies in combat.
    • Space ends your turn

More bugs: save files are broken, just like always.

Yeah, I always play my runs in one go, I know that if I take a break and try to continue later, the saved game I will get will be from a previous run, most of the time.

Bugs: Merchant is broken, conductor doesn't give any damage bonus. Other bugs: adjacency calculation from dumbell isn't done per turn, only after reorganize.
