Tried out the ninja and haste combo, I feels like this is the best one to pair with mana build to climb endless. I hope this will be kept as a feature instead of getting removed.

A metallic wand with at least +2 rage and a stopwatch is needed to get a kill in the first all out turn (2k+ damage). A mirror shield with at least 1 haste like I have here is essential to activate combo and deal with spike & rage from axeman, king and ohm (the candle is not needed). A mana hat (with windmill to keep the energy to 3 minimum is important) and a frog relic give you 7 hits every turn.

The dark headband is nice to quickly refill mana and potentially kill the next target immediately with all the built up damage. The wetband is needed to heal yourself up, especially against poison. It also allows you to not waste shields against king since you can attack him until the spike is beyond your heal then just shield up.

I believe I can just keep going until I make a mistake or die to the build up curse. The only way I can see myself getting any stronger is through forging for more rage, block and haste. Unfortunately I cannot save the game at all so once I quit, it is over. Hoping for a local build in the future.

The only thing for me to say is that I love this build. It does not have the kill power that a chef knife build has, but provides back and forth struggle (especially at the start) against your opponent that also build up overtime which is just my taste.

I reached the 14th floor and I already thought it was an incredible feat. My respects. I will definitely try that build.

How do I start from Matthew? Every time I die, it takes me back to the tutorial without giving me the option to start from Matthew. I was able to start there a couple of days ago, but since then, it's all been tutorial start.

Also, Despite saving, upon refreshing my browser, the game restarts for me at the tutorial

If i could give you 100 upvotes, I would! Thank you so much

same. I would give you all the upvotes

I'm pretty sure the cause of the bug that completely messes up the backpack and disables every button is related to loading a save too many times, since it remembers each time you do, in the stats screen for some reason. So in case that's true, maybe try not to reload too often

I hate to report this as a bug but Ninja costume is giving me max armor every turn because each haste stack is 'removing' 100% of my armor which is uh, multiplying it positively. <3

The save function worked my first run but now every time it just says "save failed". Anyone know how to fix? I cleared my cache and cookies and that didn't help :(

You have to be in an empty Room and Just try a Brunch of times, sometimes the Game doesn't wanna save Instant

(+1)

in my case, everytime i got died i click the retry and if the save failed i just refresh my browser and start the game from matthew

furthest i have ever gotten with this load out
(+1)

Axemen and this boss ruined this build, I could barely get past them but spikes is too op

(+2)

Cleaver builds live and die on getting the candle relic early

(-1)

i mean then again you can just save and reload until you get it

I tried to go for a cleaver build, but it ended up becoming this, and I won't complain!

Though I did lose a cleaver run earlier with 4 ninja costumes, a chef's hat, a queen cleaver, 4 regular cleavers, and 2 gold cleavers to the queen bee because I was a fool

how did you lose to 80 hp boss

(+1)

something tells me that they weren't on floor 3

are you sure?

yeah no, you're totally right, you can DEFINITELY obtain 4 ninja armors and a chef's hat in 10 battles, and then proceed to lose to an 80 hp boss while you're doing 22 damage per hit

I like where this game is going! It even works on Android if you open it up in Chrome Beta (Other browsers work, but the game becomes unplayable if you back out of it and you need to refresh). Scaling is a bit weird, depending on your screen's aspect ratio, but its very playable, with tapping with the other finger used to rotate items, and (quite clumsily) dragging your finger from somewhere empty to objects to hover over and see descriptions. Also, the game fails to save after starting over from a death, for some reason. A few tweaks and it would work perfectly on mobile. I know that's not on the roadmap (at least it doesn't look like it) but it should be a lot easier bringing it to Android than Switch, I'd imagine. (IOS also strikes me as difficult in some ways).

(1 edit)

The Game works on Android with the Standart Internet Browser too. You just have to Klick: (fix game)

Getting the Pick Axe floor 1 is absurdly powerful, once you get a few good gems it just compounds on itself, it also gains a ton of damage each turn if they manage to survive multiple hits like bosses.

I found a forger to put +1 rage on my wand. I like the grandmaster final boss. Makes me less paranoid for gathering cleansing bombs.

Interesting tanky warrior mage build. Unfortunately lost vs. queen bee due to poison.

W/ ring of doom & first wand you can pick whether you want regen or extra damage for the fight, blade summoner lets you get ethereal blade, and ethereal wand gets you 4 energy letting you attack twice. 2 guarding bands lets you gain haste vs solo enemies and get crazy amounts of haste vs swarms.

Useful little Exploid:

If you wanna try a Boss again, make sure you save the Game before you enter the Fight, so If you die you can reload your Browser (sometimes you have to restart your Browser), load the Game and Press continue Run, it should act as a Backup-File. You can just do this over and over until you defeated the Boss or the Enemys

the game autosaves before a floor, so it doesn't affect the bosses that much, but doing it for enemies is pretty good for rerolling drops

I knew about that. still once you're on a boss floor if you're unable to win no matter how many times you reload nothing will change since the game autosaves on entry to the floor and you have no way of obtaining new items

Monster Bug: The wizard newt(?) that gains dodge on being attacked doesn't play well with arrows. (the one that conjures up flowers)

Had a bow with 6 arrows.
On the first bow action, the first arrow gets through, deals damage normally, and the monster gains dodge as a result (expected).
The second arrow misses due to the dodge which goes away, and a new dodge is generated immediately (bug).
Rinse and repeat for every arrow. Including the first arrows of the preceding bow actions.

Using a weapon will dispel dodge without replacing it with a new one. Passing to the next turn will also reset things, so the first arrow of the first bow action will work again.

Hope that helps.

Its not a bug, and any weapon will remove dodge stack and place a new one. The idea of this boss is to either do one hit per turn, stack poison or get vampirism (it applies because weapon hit removes dodge, then vampirism deal damage, then new dodge stack appear). However vampirism would only be useful for floor 6, later he'll have too much health to be able to get enough vamp:)
"Using a weapon will dispel dodge without replacing it with a new one." - literally didn't happen with any weapon I ever had in my runs when encountering this boss. Always worked like that, you only can reliable hit once per turn:)

Hmm.. its been a few days since this happened.. (my comment was a day later)
But I know for sure that I found a way to deal damage more than once per turn, which according to your explanation shouldn't have been possible? It happened at least once, though I only tried for a turn or two, before switching to a strategy for getting rid of mobs. So I'm not 100% on the specifics, other than that I succeeded in dealing damage twice in a turn at least once.
Taking a second look at a screenshot of my set-up, I likely didn't have another weapon, so its possible it got dispelled via Scratch? Ooor possibly an empty mug??
Just to double check, a cleaver build would also only have the first cleaver hit and all subsequent triggered cleavers would be dodged?

Can confirm its a complete nightmare with cleaver build and I reorganized to only have main / few cleavers to get triggered before this fight to not wait forever.

I'm not sure what exactly you've used to deal 2 hits in one turn, as I said weapons with vampirism miss the main hit and deal damage from vampirism but thats pretty much all that goes into my head. Although I kinda remember on some multiattacking build I've seen like 2 hits out of bunch hitting the boss. My best guess is that pure vampirism weapon (there is dagger with just 2vamp and self-poisoning halberd) may remove dodge without triggering next one? Because around that time I was rocking Shield Spirit setup with one of my weapons being that vampiric dagger:)

As for the scratch, I never really used it so not sure how this one interact with boss dodge mecnahics. Should actually try it next time I meet him:)

Will try as well when I see him again.

Only used Scratch because I had no other weapon than the bow :) Fight took forever as it was on the Endless portion.
There's also the smaalll possibility that it was a consumable, in which case it'd be a mug. But much more likely it was Scratch.

I believe this is intended? You are meant to wait until the next turn when it's dodge disappears.

Really hope the save failed gets fixed asap. Had a fun mage build though.

This was my best try so far.

It does around 400 damage with food in the first turn.

Please buff the sword that gets permanently +1 after a kill. Maybe something like after floor 10 it gets +2 or 3 per kill.

This is a great game and you can play it for free.
Tanks for making this game. :)

So I noticed a few bugs with the newts in the swamp area.

First of all I was running an arrow build and the spikes they create apparently still affect arrows for some reason.

Second and kinda unrelated to newts but rather to the vampirism gem, but since the vampirism damage counts as a second attack you get hit by their spikes twice when attacking, lost a run because of that one... and just realized that this may have been why my arrows where procing the spikes as well because I had a vamp gem that run too.

If you have vampirism on arrows, they trigger spikes when vampirism proc. But they shouldn't do that on their main hit still, at least I don't think they hit me twice on my early runs when I tried it:)

Oh, yeah no, the second instance was with normal weapons, not arrows. I would take damage for the weapon from spikes, then damage again because of the 1 tic of vampirism...

I had insane fun with this build. This is the furthest I got and probably can go if I just grind.

Unfortunately is seems like 'Golden Whetstone' (gold bar) that upon use give 25% bonus damage.

Cornerstone of this build:

Sandwich: gives healing consumables +200% extra healing

3 Seasoning: gives +5 healing per for every consumable

Spice: gives +3 rages per consumable.

Old log: upon use (1 action point) produces a herb.

So combination of above 4 gives a herb +45 heal and +3 rage per use and refreses the couldron.

With enough time it can give +30 to +40 dmg for the weapons per hit after about 15 turns.

Additionally, Couldron plus the philosper's stone can give extra action points when you need it if there are disposable consumables.

Most likely there are other better builds. But this just happened to click well together.

In any case, thanks for the game. :)

Great game, I really enjoyed the various synergies that the game gives you

Bow/arrow with stacking damage per item use(arrow by bow) and glass cannon. Sadly i won't be continuing the run since this boss is gonna took 4ever to kill due to how his dodge works. it's a good endless run that sadly I didn't get much useful relic to power the run.

(1 edit)

first time beating the game since I always force mage build, and it finally worked!! I had a thorn helmet on top right and threw it away for gold and hope for a better helmet but the game never gave me one which cost me the 13th floor boss fight :\. This game is soooo fun, not like other games which makes you mad when you lose. Love it!!! Might try archery build next. Should I use multiple arrows? I feel like my space always runs out when trying archery build.

just wanted to share this archer build

I JUST BEAT THE GAME FOR THE FIRST TIME!!

nice

ty :P

Today it stopped working.

just an absolutely excellent game idea

Really fun game.

This was insane, went through the whole game with 16 hp, but wand does 46 to all enemies with 2 mana, and if I can't kill something with all my mana, I can do 51 damage with the axe for 1 gold, as many times as I can afford. Nice game!

QA gang in the thread. Not sure if it's intended (or if you have it tracked), but 0.5 poison ticks down to -0.5 and further to the negative values. Would've provided proofscreens, but itch doesn't allow me to for some reason :(

GJ otherwise, good luck launching!

So does the game not actually save because I was in the deep caves and refreshed my browser by accident and completely lost all progress. I'm not worried about it though; it is a demo and I Look forward to when the game officially releases on steam

Edit: Everytime I refresh the page it doesn't save

try manually saving, and usually if i refreshed the page i just click continue instead of start so i get back my run

uhh, is this supposed to mean it halved the modifier or base plus modifier?

On the Emerald +2 (in your case)

On your weapon +1 cause 50% of all Modifiers

You understand now?

halved

wanted damage staff but not needed. healing staff for healing, queen cleaver that uses other cleavers, warrior's spellbook for more damage and mana, ninja costume for a dodge every turn for the cost of no block allowed, windmill for extra energy, conductor and gems for more damage. staff on the left is useless because of cleavers and feather cap also useless cuz of ninja costume. overall is a fun build

played a bit of unlimited and it became even stronger. another ninja costume for another dodge so you can survive infinitely as long as the enemies doesn't attack more than 2 times in total per turn and rogue helmet for extra insurance.

What if there are more than one Enemy?

+1 Block:

One Block per Enemy?

or

One Block per Turn?

ninja costume gives 1 block per turn and rogue helmet give a dodge per combat (its kinda like a consumable but it will refresh every combat). the strategy is to kill any extra attacks that your dodge can't prevent then your good to go, as long as you don't get one shot by an enemy you can get back to full health in 1 or 2 turns. the only bad opponents are spike, but as long as you have enough dodge you will never die so you can take your time.

i stopped the run because all enemies have over a thousand health and it was taking forever to kill.

Thx but i found it Out fir myselfi Just tryed it Yesterday

Running magic builds is such a pain because you have to click ever single charge, it'd be nice if there was a use all connected charges option. It'd also be nice if there was some indication of which items are forming a curcuit.

Maybe these things exist and I'm just unobservant, but if they don't they'd be a nice include.

i have math and impatient issue
jks aside it's a really awesome game
the backpack mechanic makes items not too broken and makes for some interesting decision-making

Ive loved the game. Is really engaging. Love the art, and love the mechanics. Is really fun and adictive.

very addictive game. this is the best run I had so far, got killed because the monsters hp is to high for my damage.

Game is great, inability to save (without notifying you it failed) was sad for my megashiv run

I love the mechanics and the graphic style of this game! :D

So, weird interaction I noticed between Ninja outfit and Haste, something tells me that getting 500 defense is not intended behavior

Realized after the fact, the texts looks fine, removes 500% of armor, weird wording, but not incorrect, here it is actually in action

And another example for good measure

This time, they're from the same fight, right before and after end of turn, you can even see the skink taking it's poison damage
