Love the game, but I do have one negative comment: Structures honestly don't seem to have any use.
For the amount of space they take up their defense bonus just isn't worth it. Almost any armour will outpace it for both passive defense gain and utility, given that unlike all but one of the structures, most high rarity armour has useful passives
Their only synergy seems to be with the manchette, glass bottle, and a few rings. While it is nice to gain these benefits and still have passive defense, they don't give enough of a bonus to make it worth using structures, since the defense does not scale well.
Their rarity also makes no sense, with the brickwall being worse is almost every way to the basic brick, and balloon being harder to combo with the rest of the items with no benefit.
I get the design could easily be broken if things are not careful. I imagine if the balcksmith event that can give a shield haste were combined with a structure build it would be insane...but I have seen the blacksmith once in my 20-30 runs. But for how bad structures are, there need to be more ways to either gain haste or they need a serious buff to how they scale.
Have the Brickwall Gain 2 For Each Adjacent Structure, Count as 2 Structures, Give Defense Twice, or some combination of these.
Have The Balloon grant gain no additional defense for adjacent structures, but grant 1 Haste for each adjacent structure. This is a good payoff for it being hard to combo with the other structure pieces.
I did acknowledge this, my comments about haste are about how structures don't work without it, and the most consistent ways to get it are either a random shield improvement event or archangel armour. The event has showed up in very few of my runs, and the archangel amour negates the main benefit of strucutres.
Wow, this is such a unique concept for a game. I really look forward to checking it out. I'm a game composer and always love being able to work on (and play!) creative projects like this one. Unless im missing something. piling curses seem to be OP and are my game ender EVERY time. what even is a big curse? that was one quarter of my inventory
Only had to use shield once on the first turn. Afterwards, I simply ended my turn, no scratch, no shield, no energy use. Ballsy move. But it worked out
Lost 6 HP to poison casted by a smile summoned by the boss. Because I knew I wouldn't die and I didn't want to spend any energy. :D
I am trying to go for a mage build. But I never found the healing wand with this damage wand. I always end up with the flat 7 damage wand. It's a good build overall I think.
I think it would be insane if you could find 3 electric arrows instead of regular arrows.
you really dont need heal wand for mage bc i had a run where i did like ~500 damage in 1 turn and i went to the lava area twice you could also try to get heart gem or regen whetstone
Heart gem is cool except for a couple of situations. I use it in almost every run, but most of the time, something is missing, and I die before finding it.
It feels bad when I collect a handful manastones and don't find a good damage wand. It also feels bad when I find a good damage wand but haven't saved any manastones. And one time, I had both, but didn't have (and get) any healing. That felt the worst.
(pls fix this)- I was at a shop and decided to rearrange my items and then as i tried to put my item in a different spot it said cant afford so basically i "sold" my only weapons and lost my WHOLE RUN just because i wanted to rearrange some items at a shop (im am very pissed right now but just please fix it before you release the game) EDIT: i got no money from the "sell" and never placed down my item until that one time
I know now this isnt a thing anymore, but when this happened, you did in fact sell your items, it should have given you the exact same amount of gold you sold those items for, so that was entirely intentional from the developers, it wasnt a bug, it was a bad feature though and im glad on how it was changed
I think they work best in groups. The more you can fit at once, the better they perform. I've had 3 in my most recent run, and I would take one or two more if I could find.
A pretty interesting bug I found: If you start the game from Matthew, then enter the crypt/bramble, then exit the game and press continue, you'll enter the game without being able to interact with any of the ui, and will have to reload the webpage.
So that's suddenly adjacent now? Was having a super good run and then this dumbbell permanently shut down my weapon for the combat. Maybe I misunderstanding but usually they say diagonal for anything touching the corners. Not a big issue, but that was super annoying to lose a whole run from that.
The barbell gives the "If adjacent, weapon doesnt work" ability to the weapon itself. So you would have needed the weapon to be weapon not to be adjacent to anything.
You are right in what you think adjacent means in this game though, diagonal is separate.
Yeah, I got bamboozled at first as well. The weapon has to be not adjacent, not the barrel(I think the barrel doesn't have to be alone, but I could be wrong)
That's awesome, man! I tried to play on phone when the game was very new, and it didn't work. It was before they introduced new settings. And I never tried after the new settings. It's cool that you can play on mobile now.

I tried a run on my phone, and I wasn't logged in on itch on my phone. So it started a brand new run, as a guest account. And yes, it didn't load the game. So, what I did is, I check marked "Desktop site", and the game loaded normally. But the window was too small for precise clicking. But it was an easy fix, I just rotated the screen to the horizontal view. It wasn't a proper full screen, but it was good enough. :D
Over the past few months I've become invested in the development of this game. It's genuinely impressive and as a pro tester and a fellow dev, I really enjoy it and am impressed. I was wondering if you have any room for another game tester for this game, I can help critique and give advice in some categories. I would do so for free as long as I have a copy of the game! Feedback: gems that add damage are awkward. their dmg buff are ignorable for late games, but their rarity also makes them unsuitable to become core BD for early games.
I've got an idea that maybe it's possible to add an item like, gem carving tools or something similar, that can merge same type gems and increase their buff, making Gem Miner a possible BD for endless mode.
(Possibly only for dmg buff gems, not for others like healing gem otherwise it will be so OP)
I know, but the point is quality rather than quantity. Your packpack space is limited and the buff that gems provide has a upper limit, which will quickly become ignorable when you're in endless run. Other builds (black manastone, assassin dagger) have no such upper limits and therefore possible for endless. I'm suggesting something similar to remove gem's limit.
good build ethereal wand creates energy to use in the old book that creates mana energy to use the electric wand that gains rage with each attack, broken ring to block and hatchet for extra damage that is affected by the electric wand's rage, besides having it healing because of gemstone heart
Another weird thing going on seems to be that the save file goes back a bit - like sometimes when you enter a new run and if say - your computer crashes or you reload the page - it doesn't always load up the most recent save and instead loads up the previous save file. That is to say - the previous run.
Also RIP - the best run I had so far. It got replaced by the old one when my browser crashed... :c
It is how it's supposed to be. As soon as you click on it on a merchant, that merchant gets it. and the price goes down instantly. You probably didn't notice the price before clicking on the fly, but I bet it went down(I don't know how much it does down).

btw have you noticed that the sell price of stuff you're selling sometimes changes too? as far as I've noticed; it seems to be random, but for whatever reason an item that you would sell for 10 can sometimes be priced as 3 , when you're about to sell it. You have to go out of the shop and then in again, and the price fixes itself - either that or go to a different merchant. It is pretty weird, but I think it is a glitch.

uh i think its a bug, when i try and drag the tasty fly item to the frog sHOPkeep to sell it it just Disapears and i can't sell it and nothing happens.
If you go to a door, click "open door" without having a key in your inventory and then press nevermind leave - the character walks forward into the locked room (which in my case was a chest room), it will not give you the chest, instead it will lock you inside that one square of a room and say "pathway blocked" when you try and klick outside it.... And since you don't have a key, you're now stuck forever
:) unless you want to go back to a save - which in my case, means that I had to start over from the beginning, because apparently it hadn't saved since then...

If I were to spitball ideas:
Keep the Brick, Roof, and Tower the Same

I just went to the itch.io version for the first time after and I'm seeing my old saves
I saved the game but I died and lost everything....
when ever i try to play the game it always says that it'S not responding and its so annoying
shield also has +1 haste. darn blue slimes..........

The emerald bracelet doesn't work.
I have three curses around it but it's not giving me any energy what so ever.

It didn't give me any energy at all. I only had 3 energy at all time. I had it surrounded with curses.
This build got me to Floor 14, I'm pretty proud of it
How does it fire the arrows? don't they have to be to the right of the bow?
If you rotate the Bow they can be in other direction but always in the front size of the Bow face direction :D

I think the fly is for the frog main character
thats supposed to happen the merchant gets it when you click it and everything in the shop gets a severe discount
